The Monte Vista Christian freshman girls' track and field team delivered an outstanding performance at the Freshman Frenzy this past Saturday, securing first place with an impressive 116 points.
The highlight of the meet came in the 4x100 relay, where Julia Tracey, Eleanor Crane, Charley Moggia, and Norah Rondia sprinted to victory, earning a crucial 10 points for the team. Nora Rondia continued her individual success, taking first in both the long jump and the 300-meter hurdles while also securing second place in the 100-meter hurdles.
Carly Heirzenrater showcased her versatility, claiming first in the 100-meter hurdles and second in the high jump.
Eleanor Crane proved competed in the pole vault event, earning first place, while Gabriella Telles contributed to the team's success with a third-place finish in the same event.
Distance runner Anna Conca had a stellar meet, winning both the 2-mile and the 800-meter race, further adding to Monte Vista's dominant point total.
Charley Moggia sprinted her way to a third-place finish in the 100-meter dash. In the 4x400 relay, Julia Tracey, Eleanor Crane, Charley Moggia, and Gabby Telles secured third place, contributing more valuable points to the team's total.
The Monte Vista freshmen depth was on full display, with additional contributions from Samantha Adams, Freya Myhrstad, and Gracie Criado, who all helped push the Mustangs to their 116-point victory. Overall, ten girls competed, proving the strength and depth of Monte Vista's freshman class in track and field.
