MVC is thrilled to introduce Brittney Long as our new girls' head varsity volleyball coach. Coach Brittney brings not only great coaching skills but also a passion for developing young talent and building a winning team culture.
Coach Brittney's volleyball accolades began in high school, where she immediately emerged as a standout player. In 2006, she was recognized as an All-Conference Honorable Mention, followed by three consecutive years as an All-Conference Player. Her leadership qualities shone through as she captained her high school team for all four years.
Earning a full-ride scholarship to Otero Junior College was the next milestone in Coach Brittney's journey. She not only continued to excel as a player but also assumed the role of captain, leading her team towards success. She earned NJCAA Honorable Mentions in both years, showcasing her versatility and leadership on the court. It was her league-leading blocking skills that eventually secured her a scholarship to Colorado Mesa University.
Coach Brittney arrives at Monte Vista Christian, bringing with her several years of coaching experience at both the middle school and high school levels. Her tenure at IMUA Volleyball Club in Monterey over the past few years has further developed her coaching skills and experience in preparation for her to lead our girls' volleyball program.Â
With her wealth of experience, passion for the sport, and commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the court, there's no doubt that Coach Brittney will inspire our players to achieve greatness. Welcome to Mustang Nation!
