The Monte Vista Christian Mustangs JV Volleyball Team claimed the Silver Division Championship at the Watsonville High JV Volleyball Tournament over the weekend.
The Mustangs' journey began with a commanding victory over North Salinas, where they took the match in two sets, 26-24 and 25-9. However, their momentum was briefly halted when they faced a tough opponent in Sabrato, losing 13-25 and 14-25. Despite the setback, Monte Vista shifted gears and found their rhythm as they entered the Silver Division Bracket.
Their first Silver Division match against Del Mar was a display of grit and consistency. The Mustangs claimed the match in two sets, winning 26-24 and 25-17, sending them to the championship match against Christopher High.
After dropping the first set 18-25. The Mustangs rallied back and took control of the second set, winning 25-14, pushing the match to a decisive third set. With a Championship on the line, the Mustangs executed under pressure, clinching the final set 15-11 to claim the Silver Division Championship.

Coach Brad couldn't have been prouder of the team's performance, stating, "Our team's resilience and determination to fight hard and rally back was amazing! Some great things happened today. The ladies took our game to the next level. Way to slay!"
