Successful Mustangs For A Cure!

On Friday October 14, MVC hosted the Stevenson School in volleyball as part of the Mustangs For A Cure event, raising awareness for Breast Cancer. All gate and concessions proceeds went to the Katz Cancer Resource Center in Santa Cruz. It was a great evening of honoring and celebrating the heroic fight against breast cancer.

Before the varsity volleyball match, those in attendance who have fought or are currently fighting cancer were asked to join the volleyball players on the court. They were given a pink rose as a special gift. Nikki Daniels, MVC's Head of School, led a prayer of gratitude and encouragement as everyone on the court linked arms, letting those battling cancer know that they are not alone. MVC student-athlete Katelyn Ribeiro then sang a beautiful rendition of the National Anthem.

Special thanks to Amy Coleman for leading the fundraising effort for the bake sale as well as Susie Swing with pink sock sales. A special evening raising awareness, wearing pink, and seeing our volleyball teams come away with wins. The event was a success and you could say MVC won twice!
